Arthur nodded. He did understand that. There was a fine line between destroying just enough empathy of a person so that you can destroy the enemy or your current target and destroying all empathy so that no one mattered, let alone the partner you were assigned to.
He watches Ex give another look to his partner when he speaks about knowing where they stood and glances over at Eames and then back at Meridian. Of the two, he could relate to the man a bit more.
When he says it's because of the two of them that they took the chance on something more, Arthur can't help the little smirk. "I'm glad that us being unable to keep our hands to ourselves in public paid off for someone else."
He pauses, consideringly. "It's not easy to have a relationship under their radar but considering everything, that won't be so different than normal." Because regardless of how well one took to the training and experiments, joining the organization wasn't an "easy" path.
