Ben and Nik

Ben was once a vice cop who did what he had to so he could protect those on the street and in homes where children weren't looked after. Niklaus started on a drug task force where he had a bad habit of being around dealers who found themselves broken and busted when they went too near schools.
The two ran into one another on a case when both were undercover on two cases that became one. It had been the start of a beautiful partnership.
Eventually they were transferred to a private taskforce where the Chief of Police though their new captain could keep them under control. At least a little.
It didn't work though.
Perps that wiggled their way out of a conviction weren't seen again. People they couldn't make a case against were suddenly turning themselves in. When they were targeted for the Ravens, their captain had given them an ultimatum. Retired of prosecution. They chose the third option.
It's been a year. They've been through conditioning and medical procedures and chemical transformations to turn them into the ultimate soldiers. Though it hadn't been hard. Neither had come with a conscience. Neither knew what fear was and the thrived on pain. They were made for this program, even before the program remade them.

He nods though at that, pausing to look at Ben where he stands.
"They won't know a thing," he says, giving him a hard look, promising with that look. "We'll take care of it. Besides, if we're not getting yelled at, are we doing anything right?"
no subject
He looks at Nik and nods, recognizing the hard look for what it was. He snorts at the question. "No, I suppose not. This is probably why we're the only pairing to remain stateside. Indefinitely."
no subject
And it wasn't as if he didn't. He definitely showed it through his shoulders and his abs.
He can't help but laugh at that. "Awww, you bothered we're grounded stateside?" He sure as hell didn't sound like he was.
no subject
It wasn't exactly like it was purely a choice. They had a regiment they had to follow for the program but Adonis couldn't deny that he liked it.
He considers Nik's teasing for a moment before shaking his head. "No, not bothered. I live for their snide remarks about how we get in more trouble than others who are in other countries."
no subject
He's grinning though and he can't help himself. He looked good and he is glad for that. He's glad that Ben noticed as well. He's sexy as hell, especially that smile.
"Blah blah, you're not like Meridian. Blah blah, could you be more like the Point and Forger?" He rolls his eyes as he keeps digging. "Wait until those children in the International crossover team get in trouble. It'll be all over the newspaper."
no subject
He snorts. "Exactly," he says, shooting him an amused look. "It's only a matter of time before they end up all over the news, then they won't be the golden children." They would never be the golden children and Adonis was perfectly fine with that.
"They only have themselves to blame. They came to us - we didn't go to them."
no subject
"You want to bet? I mean, come on. They're blessed from birth and you think they won't cause an international scandal and won't still be loved? Please."
He snorts, rolling his eyes.
He laughs at that though. "We're good at what we do. We just do things like this too," he says, indicating the body before them.
no subject
He cocks his head as he considers that, digging down further. "Fair," he admits. "They have connections on their end." Can he even fault the finicky public? Probably.
"We're doing the community a favor," he says dryly. "It's practically community service to take out the trash, isn't it?"
no subject
He snorts at that. "Connections and they look like child aged super models." He pauses before adding. "You think they're hooking up?"
That makes him laugh. "Literally community service."
no subject
"Probably," he says to Nik's question about whether the two supermodels were hooking up. "They'd be missing a prime opportunity if they weren't."
"They really should be thanking us for doing a job no one else is doing." Because Adonis knows it's not just him who has done this thing before. Nik has as well.
no subject
There they are, standing over a dead body that could get them thrown out of the program and into federal prison and Nik isn't thinking about anything but the beauty of Adonis' mouth and the knowledge that he's the reason for the corpse between them and he thinks that is sex as hell.
"When you think about flirting for real, let me know."
They hadn't talked about the growing attraction between them, or he hadn't been sure it was growing between them. Now it's hitting him that it definitely is.
"They should. Not like the royal children are going to do it. Hell not even their golden children of Ex and Meridian who just went off the grid to do who knows what aren't doing it."
Not that he knew they had, but that had been personal and not like theirs.
no subject
The only one to know, if he was honest.
He'd grown attracted to the other man. Okay, that's not correct. He was always physically attracted to him. Like he said, he had two eyes and could see what was in front of him. Still, crossing that line was a step in their business.
And he liked him more than simply someone attractive to look at or someone who knew how to kill and dismember the garbage person who didn't deserve to breathe.
"I'm sure if we even mention it, we'd be told they are taking out even worse people out there," he says with a roll of his eyes.
no subject
He leaned on his shovel, considering Ben for a moment. He was cute, sure, but there was a sensualness to him that Nik knew he was attracted to. More than that, he was handsome because the cute smile hid so much that Nik thought was sex and attractive.
"Worse than those that attack children? Really?"
He rolls his eyes. "They just don't like their little drugs and games didn't do anything to us. Not what they thought it was."
They were both already psychopaths. They couldn't twist them more.
"So... back to this flirting thing. You're serious or just fucking with my head?"
It was them. He had to check.
no subject
"So they say," he says flippantly. "No probably not. They really should have done some better homework."
He considers Nik's question about whether he was serious about flirting or just fucking with him. If it was anyone else, he would be fucking with them unrepentantly. Nik was different.
"Serious."
no subject
"It worked on others they consider psychopaths but the truth? I don't think it does. Sociopaths, sure, but not psychopaths," he says, not denying it's what he is and what his life is. Nor that he doesn't think that he and Ben are on the same level.
"You're the only person I know who would seriously flirt with me over a corpse." He pauses a moment before adding. "I like it."
no subject
He doesn't deny nor attempt to argue that he was as much of a psychopath as Nik was. Honestly, why try to deny it or pretend? After this long? There was no need.
"I find it hard to believe that of all the people you know, I'm the only one. It seems like a normal thing to do," he says, sending Nik a teasing smirk. "So murder is your... what do they call them, love language?" Not that he knows really what love would be like or feel like.
no subject
But he'd prove he was the soldier he was meant to be.
"Most don't like to be this close to a grave with me. You know where you stand with me though, don't you?" He grins though at that question. "What? Are you saying it's not yours? That I came immediately when you called, ready to desecrate a corpse and bury a body?"
no subject
But he was good at following some sort of rule set.
"Most don't trust me with a shovel and yet here we both are," he says dryly with a smirk. "Never said it wasn't mine, just glad to know it's the same for you." Not that he expected anything less from Nik. Not with how they met and their stellar reputations before they were paired together before entering the program.
no subject
Be fully honest.
"So... look. If we're talking like this and about how much I trust you, which I do? You should know something. You met Elijah, right? When we were first teamed up? Yeah, he's my older brother. How they found me to bring me in."
no subject
He was just dumping dirt to the side when Nik tells him that bit of news and blinks. "Huh," he says, not questioning whether he heard it correctly. He studies the other man for a minute and thinks back on what he remembers of Elijah. "Yeah, I can... sort of see it. Is that why we're able to get away with murder?"
Adonis glances down at the body before looking at Nik. "Literally?"
no subject
He glances at the hole and gives a nod. "Come help me drop the body in here," he says with a nod, figuring that should do.
"You heard about the Second Street killer? Spree killer from about ten years ago that started at the Second Street United Church? They never released his name because he was a minor, and part of the agreement was his name would never be released. Yeah, I've known him since the day he was born. Guess it runs in the family."
Nik knows his brother could end up for admitting this to anyone. End them both even, but it feels right to talk about it with Ben. He's not always great with intimacy, but this he could do and see what happened.
no subject
"I'm pretty sure it's you helping me with the body considering who killed him," he smirks and walks the few steps to the body.
As Nik talks through about the Second Street killer, he stares at Nik. "Wow. I suppose there could be worse things that run in the family. You're not a rampant drug user and you don't prey on the vulnerable like this piece of shit," he says, kicking the body with his foot.
no subject
"Fine. Come help you move the body to the hole," he teases, because how Adonis is taking this makes him feel better about things.
He can't help but to laugh at that though. "We don't do that. Not any of us. Well, not those of us I talk to. I can't say shit about my dad or our eldest brother."
no subject
He chuckles and with Nik's help, picks up the body and dumps it ceremoniously into the hole. "I usually prefer a better cleanup than this but," he shrugs a shoulder. Adonis was glad that Nik told him. There wasn't much in Adonis's life that he hadn't already shared with Nik. Everything important, the man knew.
"Good. Besides, what's a little spree murder among murderers?"
no subject
He can't even imagine it with a straight face, ending up smiling as the body is dumped into the hole.
"This will do," he says, moving to go back and get the bucket of lye and bring it back. "Step back. Can't have you inhaling this," he says, securing a bandana over his face so all that shows is from the eyes up.
"He's a good kid," he says softly as he starts dumping lye over the body. "One day maybe he'll get out and Elijah will put him in the program or something."
koooool we love you!
