Felix and Peter

Felix comes from a well known Italian family who held the respect, and the fear, of their region for many years. Felix celebrated living the life his family's reputation afford him, working a mixture of alchemy and science that was nothing short of magic to help the family. It was that skill that brought him to the attention of the CIA and the organization that put together the Black Ravens. To be celebrated for his "magic" with chemicals was not something he was willing to turn down.

Peter was a devoted second in command to his family. A deadly enforcer with a set of custom claws that could sever a spinal cord or rip out a throat. When his family was murdered by another criminal organization, he slaughtered the people that had done it, and every single member of the family whether they were involved or not. He had been facing prison, likely the death penalty, when someone stepped in. That person gave him a choice. Return to his trial, or begin training for the Ravens. A chance to protect others and make sure they didn't watch their family slaughtered before them? He jumped at the chance.

"Not sure it's fascinating but glad you think so," he says with a wolfish, appropriately, grin.

"There are, but I was the son of an alpha, so I had it in me and not the pack. I was desired for it, but as far as magic has come, I'm not sure I can do that. By the time you find out, it's too late, you know?"

They break the bond, but that doesn't stop the pain of losing it.

"Beastfeast was a consideration for a while, because it's mostly pictures, catering to kinks, but then tragedy struck and I was in a hospital for several years and... all of that led to here," he says, shrugging as if it was nothing and not the death of most of his family. "Now I dread checking one of them out and finding my nephew on there. Not the visual I need," he admits with a chuckle.

Peter shifts then, eyes narrowing. "You have done movies for them? Really? What kind?"

"It's not every day you meet someone else who has been a model or actor on any of our more lucrative sites," Felix sends him a roguish grin.

He cocks his head and hums. "Sì, true," he agrees. He was only grateful that the couple of times he had done it, he'd known within hours that they hadn't been truly compatible.

Felix was curious about the tragedy he spoke of but he was sure if their handlers had their way, they'd know every detail of each others lives before their 'orientation' period was over. "No, I would dread finding a family member on there too," he chuckles.

He gives him a secretive smile. "Sì, I have. A couple of mating movies but more witch and shifter enemies-to-lovers videos."

"Oh you say that as if I'm some kind of special breed and you did mating movies," he says with a shake of his head, as if he did something amazing and here's this sexy witch playing darkness games on film... that he really hopes he can find.

"I would say he doesn't have what it takes to do it, but he would think he could make a fortune on mating films and be the one to fall," he says, shaking his head.

As if he wasn't suddenly realizing that Felix's scent isn't off putting. Not in the way magic could be. Here they were, closed in a car and close to one another and he's thinking about how interesting and sexy he was. Shit. That can't be good. Maybe it's something their handlers were already doing to them for partners.

"So, if I went to a site, I could find you looking amazing and having hate sex with a shifter?"

Yeah, that thought and the pheromones he likely put off thinking about it was probably not a good thing.

Felix chuckles low as he looks at Peter, settling into his seat. "Same sort of thing, yes? Photos, films... you don't find people like us who have done one or the other in our world very often."

"There is a reason there are only a few people who have done more than one round of mating film series," he muses. "Many fall and it can be painful when they break the bond. No matter how good the money, there are only so many people who can handle it more than once or twice."

As he sat there and took in what he was feeling from Peter and his reaction from Peter, he wasn't... put off by it or him at all. The man was handsome, charming and wicked - everything he liked in another man.

His mouth curls up at the question as he looks over at him. "Sì, you will have to go back several years in their archives but yes, you can find me. Under the name Roman "Rome" Steel," he hardly resists the urge to roll his eyes at the name. It had been ridiculous.

"You would think more would do it with the money and the chance to be more yourself, but then too many live in fear of being outed and I think that holds a lot back," he says, musing between them.

He shouldn't keep pursuing this. Not until they found out what was going on and how close they would get. Did their handlers know about mating even? They seemed to be judgmental and assholes about some of it. Maybe they really don't know.

But Peter is beginning to realize that he knows, and maybe they hadn't meant this but if he's not careful, he might fall. Shit. That could be so bad. Couldn't it? Wouldn't that be bad?

He grins wolfishly, intentionally, at him.

"Rome Steel, huh?" He pauses, considering that. "Yeah I could imagine groaning that,' he teases, figuring Felix should feel as on edge as he does.

"Sì, sono d'accordo," he muses. "Shame really. There are many attractive people in our world."

He is curious about the same things Peter is. Were their handlers banking on this? He can't imagine they have someone in their pocket who knows about it, right? But perhaps they do.

When Peter says his old name and says he could imagine groaning it, Felix feels more on edge and makes a low sound that Peter no doubt heard very well. "It rolls off the tongue," he says, sending the other man a wink. "I know you did photographs but did you go by a different name?"

He should be behaving. Peter knows that. They could be being watched, they are going to have to be partners, and yet there's a tension there that Peter can't deny. One he wants to dive into and never let it go.

And he's not sure he's ready to reign himself in and not take the chance. Especially with that sound that Felix makes.

"I think how it feels on the tongue is very important," he murmurs softly even as he shifts to lean in closer to the witch. "Max Damage," he admits with a soft, rumbling chuckle. "They had in mind the type of movies they wanted me to do. I just never got the chance."

There was no doubt that they were being monitored. And not just by the driver taking them to their safe house for the next three to six months. But, does Felix particularly care? Not one bit.

His mouth curls up when Peter murmurs those words in agreement and shifts closer to him. "Max Damage, hm," Felix murmurs and allows his eyes to trail over him again. "I can see it..."

He shifts and rests his arm on the back of the seat. "I wonder what damage Max Damage and Rome Steel could create together..."

This is madness. They shouldn't be considering it, playing into desires while they're being watched. What would happen if they decided that meant they didn't pass this training? He assumes this is like so many other things. One way in and one way out and that out wasn't living happily every after.

Which is why he's not willing to deny himself what he wants. Not right now when he could have so much, including a beautiful witch.

"I think if you play your cards right, you may just find out," he murmurs, knowing the mics might still pick them up but he doesn't care. "Though you better be prepared for how dark things might get. Alpha wolf and all."

While there was nothing to say that either of them would pass this "hellacious" training they've been told about, Felix never denied himself anything.

Not fine clothes.

Not decadent wine.

Not delicious foods.

And not this gorgeous wolf sitting next to him.

His mouth curls up in delight. "Oh? What would you say if I said I looked forward to however dark things may get?"

Peter leans in until he's all but looming over Felix and his mouth is nearly touching the other man's. His eyes shift, growing brighter for a moment and then seem to burn from the inside out until they're crimson red, the mark of an alpha. It was something his family had no idea he had regained and he had no plans on telling them. Part of why he accepted his place in the organization.

"Then I definitely think we're going to get along beautifully, Witch. Just so long as you let yourself go as dark as you want, as well."

The moment Peter's eyes turn crimson and he leans into him, Felix can't and doesn't hold in his groan. Merda. His eyes flash a bright violet in response, his own magic coming to the surface in response to Peter's.

"Perfetto," he says, his voice low in response before lifting a hand up and trailing his fingers down the side of Peter's neck. "I have no problem doing exactly that, Wolf."

Oh but that sound is musical to him. He does love how that sounds and knows he wants to make him make all kinds of noises more and more given the chances he has.

He shivers at that touch, eyes narrowing even as his smile grows. He cants his head slightly, not drawing away from the touch on his neck. "Good, perhaps we should..."

Perhaps you should behave as operatives and not teenage boys.

The voice comes from the speakers of the car but not from the driver.

You have a lot coming up, try and keep it in your pants.

"Ah yes, how dare we forget the ever important training. Didn't you say we must get to know each other as well as we know ourselves," he asks with a sly little smile.

"How better to learn about each other?" Even as he says it, he keeps his gaze on Peter. They'd have time. They'll far outlast their handlers in the grand scheme of things as both shifters and witches had longer than normal life spans.

"We were bonding. You would think you'd encourage that."

If they expected this to be without intimacy, they were nuts. Even if Peter wasn't partially glad for the interruption as he tried to make sense of what he was feeling as well. That scent was overpowering and he wanted to cover himself in it.

"They'll learn. Especially..." He's still looking at Felix, his gaze dropping to that lush mouth he wanted so desperately to kiss. "I never met a witch before that smells as good as you do," he says, wondering if witches could sense those things as well. If he even knew about how shifters could pick up their future mate's scent like Peter is trying to determine if he has.

"History tells me men can bond in ways that don't involve pulling out your dicks."

"How crass," Felix says with a delighted smile before chuckling. Although the interruption is annoying, it's helpful for Felix to take stock of what exactly is happening here.

While his senses aren't nearly as strong as a wolf's or another shifter, he still has a better nose than the man driving them. And he has to say, he loves the way Peter smells. Night time mixed with smoke and amber. It's addicting.

"I've never met a wolf that doesn't smell overwhelmingly like wet dog," he says, with a teasing uplift of his mouth."

"Wisdom tells me you haven't done enough true bonding, and also that you're really boring in bed if that's where you think this was heading," Peter snaps back. "And given you roll for wisdom and not history, I think I'm right."

Peter settles back in his seat though and then, because he can't let them win, he turns slightly and slides his legs over Felix's lap.

It just feels right and he can't help the need to be close to him that he feels to his bones.

"And what do I smell like then?"

He can't help but ask, because it is hitting him that this might be so bad, and nothing he had planned for... and given how he's feeling, he's not sure he's upset with that either.

Keep it in your pants, gentlemen. At least until you get to the bloody safe house.

Felix chuckles and rests his hand on Peter's legs, rubbing it through the fabric. It felt right and he cared not one bit about what others may think of him or them. Of course they would have a job to do and he would always be professional but Peter was a surprise.

A delightful surprise.

"Like nighttime, smoke and amber," he says, looking at him, feeling a closeness to his wolf than he has with anyone in a very long time.

If ever.

"What do I smell like?"

It's easy and comfortable with Felix. Which was weird, and should worry Peter a lot, but he hasn't been close to anyone in such a long time that it feels amazing just to have this. Thinking about the future might bring just with them working together and seeing where all of this led.

"Lightning," he says without hesitating. "Like the ozone in the air right before a strike. Like copper all sharp and tangy. Like earth and life," he says. It's so much more, A million things to his sensitive nose, but that's what it all makes him think about.

People have been known to gravitate to Felix over the years. Truth be told, he always assumed it was due to his power levels that normal humans somehow pick up on. But this, with Peter, is deferent. There's a connection there that he can't quite explain. While of course he's heard of mates in their community, coming across someone who fits him so perfectly has not been his experience.

This, with Peter, again, is different. There's something here. Something he can practically taste and feel deep in his bones. Does Peter feel it too?

He surely must.

"So together we must smell like a power couple," he muses with a please smile, leaning in so he can nuzzle at his jaw line.

He shouldn't give into this. He should bail from everything and if they choose to kill him, then so be it. He can feel it, some kind of draw for Felix that he can't keep himself from. He wants to give in to it all, no matter how dangerous that could be with the possibility that this witch is his mate. Dangerous for both of them.

"I get the feeling that is exactly what we must be," he says, leaving off the scent. "I'm not the only one, right?"

Fuck, if he's misreading this, or somehow it's one sided, he has no idea what he's going to do.

"No, you're not the only one," he says slowly.

In all the years he's been alive, he never thought he'd find himself a mate. Let alone consider who it would be. And yet, here they are. There's no other reason that would describe this connection with the man already.

"I never imagined I'd find someone like you and this connection," he says, considering the other man. If there was one thing that was for. Gods help whoever even tried to come in between them. As a formidable witch, his power wasn't to be taken lightly.

But come between an alpha wolf and his mate? Enemies will wish for death. At least, that's what he's always heard.

He's not panicking. He's not denying it. That's a good start. Except he doesn't know the life Peter's lived, the man he became after the death of his family and pack... or what he'd done to become an alpha.

But did any of that chance it was already predestined. Even if Felix despised him knowing the truth, it didn't change the truth.

He leans in, brushing his nose against Felix's jaw, along the tender spot under his ear. Inhaling his scent and letting it seem to wrap around him, sink into him, become part of him.

"You are mine," he whispers, unable to help himself, a shimmer of magic rippling out from them at that claiming statement.

It didn't matter that he was possibly bringing down Hell for both of them. He needed to say those words, even as he waits to see what Felix's reaction might be to it.

Felix has lived a long life. Perhaps not as long as some of his family members but all the same, some things simply don't shock him anymore.

In the supernatural world, as far as he sees it (though again, some of his family members would strongly disagree), they all have literal and figurative skeletons in their closets that they're either proud of or ashamed of. He had both.

Someone who is supposed to fit him perfectly like mates? He only assumes will be similar.

Felix tilts his head for Peter's nose, making a low noise. "Yours," he agrees. "Just as you're mine."

There's no way these bastards that brought them together for this could have known what they had done. It would make them an amazing team for what it is they want them to do. It would make them more than partners. They take that step and they would be bonded, together, and it would take a lot for anyone to take them down and or take them out.

But if they ever tried to undermine them, they wouldn't be able to take them apart. Ever.

And damn but he ached for it. His wolf wanted to bite him right there. No talks. Nothing. Just to gave him. But in the end, he knows he can't do that. It's now how to make this work for them.

But damn he wanted it.

He wanted to feel him, and taste him, and the way he is leaning in toward Felix as his fangs extend and his eyes glow brilliant blue.

"And so then do we get to explore where this might go?"

He suspects Felix wants to as much as he does.
