Ben and Nik

Ben was once a vice cop who did what he had to so he could protect those on the street and in homes where children weren't looked after. Niklaus started on a drug task force where he had a bad habit of being around dealers who found themselves broken and busted when they went too near schools.
The two ran into one another on a case when both were undercover on two cases that became one. It had been the start of a beautiful partnership.
Eventually they were transferred to a private taskforce where the Chief of Police though their new captain could keep them under control. At least a little.
It didn't work though.
Perps that wiggled their way out of a conviction weren't seen again. People they couldn't make a case against were suddenly turning themselves in. When they were targeted for the Ravens, their captain had given them an ultimatum. Retired of prosecution. They chose the third option.
It's been a year. They've been through conditioning and medical procedures and chemical transformations to turn them into the ultimate soldiers. Though it hadn't been hard. Neither had come with a conscience. Neither knew what fear was and the thrived on pain. They were made for this program, even before the program remade them.

Good. Lye will be helpful.

Anyone else that might come looking for him we have to deal with?
no subject
No friends and no family left.

About 20 out. All clear for me to come in?
no subject
All clear.
After this, let's get burgers.

A nearly pitch black window rolls down.
Nik offers a smile.
"Need a ride?"
Even as he asks, he gets out of the car and goes around to get a container of lye from the trunk.
no subject
"You have the tarp as well," he asks walking to the trunk with him and grabbing the bag they kept with a change of clothes, just in case.
Usually, he was a little more methodical about his kills. Or at the very least, he took them to a place where clean up was a bit more of a breeze.
This? Significantly less so.
no subject
"I do, but do you want to wrap them or just dig us a shallow grave here and dump in the lye and order a planting of endangered plants?"
no subject
Though he expected nothing less from Nik. He reached in for the shovel and an empty bag to place his clothes onto once they were done.
no subject
So if a dog was brought in and alerted, it would end the search. He liked animals more than people though, so if he couldn't find one already gone, he wasn't making it happen.
He shrugs out of his coat, moving to get out a folding shovel to help out. No reason to make it take more time than it should. He slide into a yellow reflective vest he keeps in the trunk as well, making it look like they were on a road crew.
no subject
"How soon can we get endangered plants delivered and planted," he asks, shrugging on one of the vests and leading Nik to the body.
no subject
"I know someone about an hour out or so. By the end of the weekend it will look like they've always been there. Something native and protected. I've found it's a useful friend to have around here."
no subject
He nods when Nik says he has someone. "Great. That is a very useful someone to know about," he agrees and stops when they get to the body of the mutilated man. Adonis had not gone easy on him but any person who went after children or animals got the brunt of his anger.
no subject
Which he knew was the truth, and he hadn't thought it was entirely impossible.
Nik stares at the body for a long moment, head canting to one side. "Wow, you had fun without me, didn't you?"
no subject
Adonis leans against the shovel as he stares at the body with a flat expression. "I would have called you but you were in that meeting... I didn't need to be yelled at yet again for taking matters in my own hands if they got wind of it."
no subject
He nods though at that, pausing to look at Ben where he stands.
"They won't know a thing," he says, giving him a hard look, promising with that look. "We'll take care of it. Besides, if we're not getting yelled at, are we doing anything right?"
no subject
He looks at Nik and nods, recognizing the hard look for what it was. He snorts at the question. "No, I suppose not. This is probably why we're the only pairing to remain stateside. Indefinitely."
no subject
And it wasn't as if he didn't. He definitely showed it through his shoulders and his abs.
He can't help but laugh at that. "Awww, you bothered we're grounded stateside?" He sure as hell didn't sound like he was.
no subject
It wasn't exactly like it was purely a choice. They had a regiment they had to follow for the program but Adonis couldn't deny that he liked it.
He considers Nik's teasing for a moment before shaking his head. "No, not bothered. I live for their snide remarks about how we get in more trouble than others who are in other countries."
no subject
He's grinning though and he can't help himself. He looked good and he is glad for that. He's glad that Ben noticed as well. He's sexy as hell, especially that smile.
"Blah blah, you're not like Meridian. Blah blah, could you be more like the Point and Forger?" He rolls his eyes as he keeps digging. "Wait until those children in the International crossover team get in trouble. It'll be all over the newspaper."
no subject
He snorts. "Exactly," he says, shooting him an amused look. "It's only a matter of time before they end up all over the news, then they won't be the golden children." They would never be the golden children and Adonis was perfectly fine with that.
"They only have themselves to blame. They came to us - we didn't go to them."
no subject
"You want to bet? I mean, come on. They're blessed from birth and you think they won't cause an international scandal and won't still be loved? Please."
He snorts, rolling his eyes.
He laughs at that though. "We're good at what we do. We just do things like this too," he says, indicating the body before them.
no subject
He cocks his head as he considers that, digging down further. "Fair," he admits. "They have connections on their end." Can he even fault the finicky public? Probably.
"We're doing the community a favor," he says dryly. "It's practically community service to take out the trash, isn't it?"
no subject
He snorts at that. "Connections and they look like child aged super models." He pauses before adding. "You think they're hooking up?"
That makes him laugh. "Literally community service."
no subject
"Probably," he says to Nik's question about whether the two supermodels were hooking up. "They'd be missing a prime opportunity if they weren't."
"They really should be thanking us for doing a job no one else is doing." Because Adonis knows it's not just him who has done this thing before. Nik has as well.
